There’s not a single adult who hasn’t had a blackhead or three at one point or another. And if you told me you haven’t, I wouldn’t believe you. Even saying the word “blackhead” icks me out. But it’s often a fact of life. But hopefully not for much longer because I’ve found a potential cure. I haven’t tried it myself but I have heard good things about using both lemon and honey on your skin. So, here’s the scoop… Take half a lemon and place 3-4 drops of honey on it. Rub the honey infused lemon on your face emphasizing the blackhead prone areas like your nose, chin, etc. Leave the lemon/honey mixture on your face for five minutes, then rinse with warm water. You should see result immediately. Additionally, the lemon juice will fade dark marks on your face and the honey will moisturize.

As I mentioned, I have done these two together, but I have used honey on my face, specifically Manuka honey. Manuka honey comes from New Zealand from bees that harvest a particular plant that only grows there. This honey has antibacterial properties and has been used in wound care to reduce infection and promote healing. Batches of the honey are rated with a “Manuka Honey Factor” or MHF. The higher the rating, the stronger the antibacterial properties. The Manuka honey that I use has an MHF of 20. I use it as a mask about once a week for 20-30 minutes. But what’s even better is that if I feel I’m getting one of those under the skin breakouts — you know, the ones you can really feel — I dab a bit of the honey on and leave it over night. I may have to do that for a day or two. But so far when I’ve used it, the breakout never saw the light of day. (Knock on wood.)

So there ya go. Hope that helps you have glowing skin.

Cheers!
